CONNECTION GRANTS
What are Community Connection Grants?
The Stockwood Community Connection Grants are here to help build a strong, inclusive and welcoming community.
We want to support ideas that improve:
-
Community connection and belonging
-
Wellbeing
-
The local environment
The grants are managed by the Stockwood Community Hub.
How much can I apply for?
There are two grant options available:
Up to £200 grant This grant is for local people who want to try out a small community-building idea. It could be anything that brings people together and helps people connect.
Up to £1,000 grant This grant is for bigger ideas, or for growing an activity that has already been tried and shown promise. If you think your idea may exceed this amount, please talk to us before applying.
Who can apply?
You may be eligible if you are:
-
A resident of Stockwood with a community-focused idea
-
A resident-led group (constituted or unconstituted)
-
A community group or local voluntary sector organisation delivering work in Stockwood
You are not eligible if you are:
-
A business
-
A third sector organisation that is not based in or delivering in Stockwood. Projects must primarily benefit Stockwood residents.
How are grants awarded?
Grants are awarded on a rolling basis until all funding has been allocated. Grants are considered at the monthly Stockwood Community Hub meetings, made up of local residents, representatives of local community groups and organisations and local councillors.
What do we ask from you?
If your application is successful, we ask that you spend the grant within 12 months of receiving it.
We may ask for feedback about how things are going during the year. At the end of the project, we will ask for feedback on how the money was used and what difference it has made.
This helps us understand the impact of the grants and shape our work at Stockwood Community Hub.
What can the grants be used for?
The grant is for delivering an activity or project, not for core running costs. All sorts of ideas can help build community.
